Quarry Mining are proud supporters of the Peabody Energy North Goonyella & Burton team for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave Mining and Energy Challenge.
Every day, more than 31 Australians are expected to be diagnosed with a blood cancer. Once diagnosed, regional families must often relocate closer to major treatment centres for immediate treatment, leaving their home and support network behind.
The funds raised through supporters in the community will ensure life-saving research continues; seeking better treatments and hopefully cures for all blood cancers. The Foundation also provides patients going through treatment, access to a range of services (free-of-charge) including accommodation, counselling, transport and financial assistance.
Since 2006, the resources sector has participated in the Mining and Energy Challenge, raising more than $4 million to support blood cancer patients and their families. Visit http://www.worldsgreatestshave.com/ to see how you too can do something amazing to help beat blood cancer.
