A locally designed safety drill bit is reaching new heights by helping to keep the rescue helicopter service flying.
Local business Quarry Mining have stepped up their existing sponsorship of RACQ CQ Rescue and launched a new partnership whereby they will be donating proceeds from the sale of every Angel Bit sold in the region to the rescue helicopter service.
Spokesperson for Quarry Mining Manager, Kevin Royal said “Quarry Mining is passionate about providing high quality underground mining products that have safety as their priority design consideration. We are a community minded organisation and are very proud to be able to support and partner with an organisation like CQ Rescue that provides such a critical service, to not only our mining families, but to our entire community”.
CQ Rescue CEO Martin Cleland said
“The partnership between Quarry Mining and CQ Rescue is an association that we are very proud of. Donating a portion of sales is a fresh approach to supporting the rescue helicopter during these uncertain financial times and we are delighted to welcome Quarry Mining as a major sponsor.”
The Angel Bit is a redesign of the traditional two wing drill bit used in coal mining roof support. Quarry Mining saw a real need to improve on the traditional two wing bit following a series of injuries to miners involving mesh entanglement. This new design increases safety, improves drilling efficiency and extends product life.
