Having been appointed by TEI Rock Drills as distributors for sales and official service agent for Australia in November 2018, QMC’s General Manager Phill Breese, accompanied by 2nd in-charge fitter Declan Read, ventured to TEI Headquarters – located in Montrose, Colorado, for a week of intensive training on servicing and assembly of both Drifters and Rotary drills, whilst also taking the time to learn the ins-and-outs of the products on offer from the TEI sales and marketing team.
TEI Rock Drills is a specialist in fitting drills and attachments to Excavators and Skid steer loaders. These are becoming more and more common for use in the civil industry for installing Anchor Piles and Self Drilling Soil nails. There is also a space in the Tunnelling industry for confined spaces where a conventional Jumbo cannot be used.
Having completed the week of intensive and extensive training, QMC is asked to attend the Bauma trade show on the TEI Rock Drills stand to represent Australia for any of the current customer bases, and/or if new enquiries are made. Phill, along with QLD Manager Kevin Royal accepts the invitation, ready their passports, and head to Europe to represent the QMC brand.
What is Bauma? Bauma is the largest Mining and Construction show in the world, held every 3 years in Munich, Germany.
“It was so large that Kevin and I could not get around the whole show to see all the exhibitors. We also had some good meetings with current Australian TEI customers and spent a lot of time with the US-based sales team listening and learning from their knowledge.”
Great opportunities lay ahead. Brilliant work, team.
