On April 11th, Beresfield Public School located a short distance from our head office held its Term 1, 2019 Book Giving Assembly, an initiative heavily supported by all here at Quarry Mining and Construction.
Founded in 2001, Books in Homes Australia is a charitable foundation that provides books of choice to children living in remote, disadvantaged and low socio-economic circumstances, ensuring crucial early literacy engagement and the development of reading skills needed for lifelong achievement. The program aims to overcome the inequality of educational opportunities in communities where access to books for families is limited or non-existent and resources are often scarce. In doing so, the program contributes to helping overcome generational poverty by enhancing the chances of success in early education thereby opening up options, choices and potential in later life.
“Thank you again for all of your time and support with the program. We are thrilled to be a part of it, and our children always enjoy looking into our Sponsor, our visiting authors and the wonderful program. I know our parents truly love it as well.”Mikaela, Beresfield Public School.
Unfortunately, a QMC representative could not be present at the assembly, but we send our best wishes for the term ahead.
